My Philosophy

As an educator, it is my role to awaken your natural curiosity and facilitate your exploration.

I look forward to seeing what we can discover - together.

I believe nature presents us with many opportunities to make positive connections-right outside of our homes, schools, and places of work. A weekend camping trip is not the only way to engage with our natural world!

Experience

Experience joy and focus by:

  • Holding a feather and describing the textures and patterns

  • Peering through a magnifying glass and watching the activity in a small patch of grass

  • Stepping outside and noticing the natural world using our senses

Learn

Being curious is a prerequisite for engaged learning, increased focus, and academic confidence.

During my years of teaching environmental education, I have witnessed curiosity about nature, from the items I have brought into a classroom to the schoolyard habitat adventures, spark the motivation to discover and learn.

Adult learners, too, experience positive energy and joy when they investigate the natural world through guided walks and interactive presentations.
